The Children’s Place

The Kao Family Foundation (KFF) has provided a grant to The Children’s Place of Kansas City. The Children’s Place is a specialized trauma treatment center serving the mental health needs of young children since 1978. With dedication, support, and the highest level of research-based care, they walk hand-in-hand with children birth to eight years old as they heal from life’s deepest hurts, such as child abuse and neglect. They offer individual or family therapy as well as caregiver groups and individualized parenting services. Adults receive encouragement and education to raise happy and healthy children. Children receive mental health, social-emotional, developmental and educational services so they can thrive in a traditional classroom setting or daycare.
