Kao Family Foundation.
Board of Directors
Dr. Min Kao is the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Garmin. He holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University and an MS and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Dr. Kao is a dedicated advocate for higher education.
Yu-Fan Kao is a music educator. She holds a BS in Music from National Taiwan Normal University and trained as a pianist. Mrs. Kao is an avid supporter of the arts and education. She also serves as a director of the Kao Family Education Foundation.
Kenneth Kao is a film and television producer and media entrepreneur. He is co-founder and President of Waypoint Entertainment and founding partner of Parallel, where he propels its mission to help more people live better by empowering brands that make wellness more accessible. He holds a BA in English from the University of Kansas and a JD from DePaul University College of Law.
Jennifer Kao is an artist and designer who founded and ran her eponymous fashion label for 10 years. She is a CFDA member and a recipient of the Harvard Leadership in the Arts Award and the Stacy Nipps Alumni Award. Ms. Kao holds a BS in Studio Art from New York University and a Graduate Degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design. She is an avid supporter of fundamental human rights.
Laurie Minard is the Vice President of Human Resources at Garmin International, Inc. in Olathe, Kansas. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas. Ms. Minard is highly involved in the Kansas City community and has served in a variety of board roles over the years.
Nicolas Gonda is a film producer and media entrepreneur. He is a founding partner of Parallel, where he propels its mission to help more people live better by empowering brands that make wellness more accessible. Nicolas graduated from the Gallatin School of Individualized Studies at New York University with a multi-disciplinary BA in Philosophy, Literature and Business.
Adam Leibsohn is the co-founder of GIPHY and most recently served as its COO. He has been listed as one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business and one of AdvertisingAge’s 40 under 40. Mr. Leibsohn holds a multidisciplinary BA in French, English and Philosophy from Amherst College and is dedicated to equal rights and sustainability.
